Community Impact Day: MLK Day of Service

On January 16, 2017, Sigma Delta Omega spent the morning marching in remembrance of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the afternoon connecting with those in our community who are experiencing homelessness. The picture above is of the bags/buckets of toiletries we collected.
With the generous support of chapter members and community members we were able to exceed our goal set of 100 bags and donate 104 care packages. Chapter members along with family and friends of members provided soap, shampoo, socks, scarves, toothbrushes and tooth paste and warms hats all packed into handled buckets and bags, for easy carry. Sigma Delta Omega also partnered with Planned Parenthood Mar Monte and each care package had health services information and condoms. Meeting our Seasonal Wraps and Family strengthening targets, this project made an immediate and lasting impact on our community.
